Frequently asked questions.

How do you edit an essay?

Maintaining your unique voice is the most important thing in an admissions essay. I believe in this so strongly that I will only make critical changes in the document if absolutely necessary (for example, if the grammar of a sentence impedes on its meaning). Otherwise, I will make most of my comments on the side, where you can go through each comment and revise as you see appropriate based on my suggestions. You can expect questions, phrasing ideas, commentary, and a paragraph at the end of the essay with significant ideas about next steps to move forward.

Can i submit the same essay again after I make changes based on your comments?

Yes! Feel free to submit the same essay twice after you’ve changed things around - I will go through it again with a critical eye, working with you to make it even more polished.

Is there a sliding scale for pricing?

I have a personal commitment to offer my services to those who want to go to college or graduate school but cannot afford my price point. If this sounds like you, please know that you are just as deserving as anyone else, regardless of financial ability. Each year, I take a certain number of essays that I do for free. Please email me about your situation and we can talk about what will work for both of us.

is a great essay all i’ll need to get accepted?

Personal reflection essays provide admissions teams with a significant snapshot of who you are, and a great essay is an incredible asset in any application. However, it is not the only thing that contributes to a “successful” college application. Many factors contribute to a university’s decision to admit or reject students. Therefore, my service cannot guarantee your admittance to any university or college program.
